On october the 20th 2020, dji will be releasing the new DJI OSMO Pocket 2 and it will look the same as the original pocket, here is the design they have filed at the end of 2019 and its the same image as the old one. The foldable gimbal camera design that I talked about in another video might still be made but have a different name, what should they name this osmo camera? Comment it here below.

However it being DJI OSMO Pocket 2 there must be some difference. The new Osmo Pocket 2 will be slightly bigger as I super imposed a leaked image of the bottom of the OSMO pocket 2 over the original pocket, you can see it bigger as I scaled the USB port to match in size. And because its slightly bigger we can expect also a slightly bigger screen. But also most mounting accessories of the original pocket will not fit onto the Pocket 2.

We will see some new kinds of accessories as one of the accessories name has been leaked out with is called the All in one Handle which got a tripod mount on the bottom. Which should be something like the extension rod for the pocket, but with some differences to fit the Pocket 2. However there won’t be a 1/4 inch mount on the Pocket itself and still require an accessory to attach the pocket to a tripod.

The camera of the Osmo Pocket 2 might be the camera from the DJI Mavic air 2. I also notice DJI totally taken down DJI Mavic Air series from their website you cant even find it in the top drop down menu. They might stop making the Mavic Air 2 and the camera will be used on to the Pocket 2.

But also because when looking at the camera designs, the Air 2 camera is very similar to the Pocket Camera in design. So with the Mavic Air 2 camera we can expect a 1/2 inch sensor with 48MP and a 24mm F2 lens. And be able to film 4k 60p as before but 240fps in 1080. But with the 48mp sensor it would be able to take 8k hyperlapse and motion timelapse on the Pocket 2.
However the issue is the Teaser video showed a more blurry background and 1/2 inch sensor is smaller then 2/3 inch sensor which the original pocket have. So the 2nd option is that the new Pocket 2 have the Hassleblad 1 inch sensor camera but with a different lens as teaser shots were very noticeable ultra wide angle shots and Hassleblad is a 28mm which is more tele than the original Pocket. However the extreme shallow DOF make me think that the teaser was not really filmed with the pocket.
But on the 20th just a few days away we will see the OSMO Pocket 2, what are the features you would really want to see on the new Osmo Pocket 2 please comment hem here below.
