This is the Viltrox K60<\/a> and it is one of the brightest affordable two foot RGB tube lights you can get.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lets go to some of my light test results. I put the light at 100% and changed the color temperature and measured the light at 1 meter. Though there are not a lot of situations where you would use 8500 kelvin, it is the brightest. The brightness does drop going down the kelvin values. But it is still brighter than the tubes Amaran and Nanlite are offering at the same price. It is competing more with the more expensive Astera Helios Tube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even when the light is set to half the power it is still brighter than Amaran and Nanlite tubes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I set it to 1% just to check how bright it is on its lowest setting, as some lights are very bright even on its lowest setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the package includes an egg crate, it is also interesting to see much light we lose with the grid and it is roughly around 70-100 lux, but the light is still very bright and usable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a RGBWY mode where you can power on individual LEDs to dial in the color you want, however turning them all to 100% does not result in max brightness, it is only when we turn white to 100% the light is at its brightest with 1593 lux.

Each color has a different brightness, so if you are going to do color changing effects, the light won\u2019t be constantly as bright as certain colors are darker than the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Viltrox K60<\/a> is definitely bright enough for a lot of use cases. Especially be usable indoors and at outdoor overcast or night shoots, but it does not have enough output to compete with the likes of a sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The K60 built-in battery lasts up to 90 minutes when it is set to 100% output, but reality more often only needs around 30% output and gets around 4 to 5 hours of use which is quite good. And recharging with a 100 watt usb-c charger is quite fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now to some of the cons. It does not have magnets while a lot of other tube lights have it. I don\u2019t like the rounded side caps as you can’t stand the light up without adding a tripod. And the usb-c placement makes it hard to charge the light while using. However all the cons are quite minor compared to the pro that its a bright light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Viltrox K60<\/a> works very will via the Weeylite Pro app, you don’t need to connect via bluetooth. All you have to do is to set the channel and group letter on the light itself, by holding the set button and it will allow you to change it. The on the phone app you can choose the channel and groups you want to access or alter. Only draw back I see is that the CCT presets are odd temperatures with 3000 and 4000 kelvin. And 3200 kelving en 4400 kelvin would be nicer, but also nicer to see the far end of 2500 kelvin en 8500 kelvin.

Conclusion
The Viltrox K60<\/a> is a very useable bright tube light, especially for its price. I recommend getting the double kit which comes with a nice hard case. But also the light is nice and soft and especially filming on a small location it does the work very well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
