I spotted a frugal $15 USD DSLR Shoulder Rig from Cowboystudio , so I ordered it as was skeptical how well something would work for such a cheap price.
Out of the box most of it looks very well made out of metal, only the thumbscrew being plastic can be only con, but you can easily find replacement part for these quite easily.
Even though it got a build in Arca swiss quick release build into the rig, the supplied plate is overly wide for no reason. Which causes an issue when you want to replace batteries as it can block the battery door from opening on your camera.
A simple fix for this would be purchasing a standard small arca swiss plate, which there are quite a lot of option for online and can buy them for just a few bucks.
Also because it is a shoulder rig it is modular so you can upgrade parts over time when it is needed and for its price it is a nice startup rig to work with. Another change I made was to change the grip, as I don’t like the silicon feel of the grip. Grip options:

After testing it for a while, the image above was what I end up with, making it less sophisticated and also far less weak point by using less parts, but also making the entire rig lighter and much easier to use, but also uses far less space when needing to store it in a backpack.
