This video I am reviewing the Sirui 50mm f1.8 1.33x Anamorphic lens. This interesting lens is the first camera lens that Sirui made and its a very special lens being anamorphic. Its also much smaller and more affordable compared to what is currently available on the market from Vazen or SLR Magic. Also this lens is super sharp wide open which was quite a surprise as often anamorphic lenses need to stop down to get to such sharpness.

Another interesting thing is that the Sirui is useful on the Sony A7 series camera as the lens covers 1.3x crop sensors, because Sony A7 Series have clear image zoom feature you can
One thing I do suggest for any filmmaker to do is to purchase Tilta Seamless Focus Gear ring for this lens, making it a proper cine lens with focus gears so you can use it will a follow focus.
Because this anamorphic lens is so small and light, it actually one of the few anamorphic lenses that can be used with single handed gimbals, without making the whole setup extreme bulky and too heavy.
