Notice a stupid trend happening with filmmakers adding random quotes on their movie / film posters, while the filmmakers haven’t made an actual achievement with their feature or short film on film festivals getting festival selections or awards or proper review from reputable sources.

They add a random quote with stars, that act like a review quote with a kinda of review score with the stars, but because there are no additional source of who said it like reputable movie magazine or reviewer, they are just a random pointless text quotes. Also acting like there had achieve something or push narrative of what people can expect, while it’s more of a desperate look for attention, so people would watch their short film and not skim over it due to seeing the added quote. As also how it is designed with the stars, it also looks quite similar to certain achievement laurels when you quickly glance at the poster.

Personally also not fan of review quotes on posters even from reputable sources, as the filmmakers can cherry pick a quote, even while the rest of the review was actually talking bad about the movie. In honestly it is better to show what actual achievements or just work on your next film that will be better. As you should never fake it till you make it. As judges from film festivals aren’t stupid to fall for these quotes and still judge your film like any other films. Same goes for producers and other filmmakers can also easily spot you are faking it and have the more opposite results and that they likely don’t trust your film and also less likely want to watch it.
